NVG Philosophy & Culture

Nautical Ventures pro-actively seeks out innovative boat brands & emerging marine technologies and we’re the first to introduce them to the Florida market. Nautical Ventures has brought in several lines of electric boats and award-winning boat lines from Europe & South America. We are a recognized as a top dealer for all the brands we carry, and we have worked out strategic marketing partnerships with the Marine Industry Association of South Florida (MIASF), Marine Industry Association of Palm Beach County (MIAPBC), Nation Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), Show Management, and other maritime organizations all for the betterment of boating in South Florida. Nautical Ventures created the AquaZoneTM – a 40,000-gallon demonstration pool and exhibition arena used at boat shows to showcase new & cutting-edge marine products.

Since 2012, sales grew from $4 million, to $8 million, to $15 million, to $26 million, to $36 million dollars annually, and on track to do $52 million on 2020. Staff grew from 8 people to 125 people. Locations grew from 1 flagship store to 3 additional dealerships, 1 full-service marina, and 1 rental location. Capabilities also grew by adding service facilities, a full-service marina, fuel docks & delivery, yard storage, and much more. Nautical Ventures was ranked by South Florida Business Journal as the 8th largest marine enterprise in South Florida.

CEO Roger Moore, aka 007, is a Boating Industry Mover & Shaker and he has the credentials to prove it.

In 2009, Nautical Ventures was a fledging dealership with 8 employees. Roger bought the dealership in 2010 and completely re-engineered the business by expanding brand categories and attracting new boat lines. He purchased a waterfront property in an emerging part of town and built a new state-of-the-art showroom with a service facility. He hired new personnel, established department heads in boat sales, brokerage (including cruise ships sales), yacht tenders & toys, kayaks & standup paddleboards, fuel, service, repower, and outside sales. This completely turned the business around to be a profitable boat dealership.

Roger and his wife Samantha personally sailed around the world in their 66′ Cheoy Lee motorsailor. The journey took them 14 years and 42,000 nautical miles. Shortly after Roger dropped anchor in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, he bought Nautical Ventures. To say he understands boating, the boating customer, and the boating lifestyle is an understatement. He is our customer, and his ability to relate to our clientele, our staff, our vendors, boat builders, and industry personnel is immeasurable. He currently lives on an 84’ Northern Expedition Yacht and his passion for all things boating is both inspiring and contagious.

“As a boater, nothing gives me greater satisfaction than to see our customers, employees, vendors and friends derive the same level of enjoyment from boating that I’ve experienced my whole life.”
